Social Media Marketing with Guzzlers Bar & Grill

 

Guzzler's Bar and Grill opened on June 1, 2012 with much anticipation .​I was the first waitress hired to bri​​ng enthusiasm to the new environment. I took the initiative to keep staff informed of changes, specials, and weekly events​. As a team, we worked through the difficult first weeks and became successful through trial and error.​

 

Soon after being hired, I took the position of Social Media Marketing Specialist alongside my regular duties as a waitress, where I worked to re-brand the restaurant that went through significant renovation and a name change when the restaurant changed owners. The main objective was to build awareness of the restaurant’s new name and create a social presence via Facebook and the Arvig Wireless text-marketing program.

To generate a Facebook community, I exposed as many people as possible to the Facebook page. By creating a section called Meet the Employees, I was able to photograph and tag them, linking the Guzzler’s Facebook page to their profiles. In turn, the photos would be visible on their friends’ newsfeeds, reaching a far greater audience than it would otherwise.

 

As a result, the Guzzler’s Bar & Grill Facebook page took off with 531 “likes” and several consistent, interactive customers.

Using proficiency in InDesign and Photoshop, I also created flyers and table tents to promote awareness of joining the “text club” and the benefits that it had. 

 

On June 14, when I began marketing for the text club, we had 70 subscribers. ​​By implementing table tents, our text club customers rose to 128 by September 1 and continued to increase to 204 as of November.​
