*Self-published book—May 2014 Just as many might wonder what a particular celebrity looks like before they leave the house, I wondered about the transformation involved behind dragging and the personalities that live beneath the mask. In this book, I explored the life of queens behind the scenes, capturing raw footage and vivacious personalities. I wanted the world to know that the people behind these masks are beautiful, nothing short of amazing, and just as average as the “girl next door.”

It seems like the blink of an eye since I was in high school, stumbling in heels during prom or embarrassing myself in front of my crush at football games. Go Rockets! Now I only get “dressed up” on the rare occasion that my roommates and I plan to end up at Rehab to get down and dirty—“turn down for what?”—and my equivalent to a “crush” comes in an orange can. What boyfriend? He’s virtual.

Stoutonia newspaper—Dec. 6-19, 2012 Jon Corey Steinhorst, 15, was pronounced dead on the scene the night of Feb. 25, 2006. Three days later, he woke up at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical Center with four broken ribs, a T-1 fracture (which is part of the vertebrae), two collapsed lungs, a torn liver, a hole in his spleen and severe nerve damage. Stoutonia newspaper—Mar. 7-April 4, 2013 College students across America can thank Colgate University of Hamilton, N.Y. and their 1936 swim coach, who sent his team south to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. to practice in the spring. The success of the trip that year brought the team back for several years to come. English professors assign weekly tweets to post as an assignment. The Fashion, Art and Beauty magazine is even utilizing a Pinterest account as a space to share ideas and inspiration for upcoming photo shoots. Click to read more.

Free Laptops? Hardly!

Stoutonia newspaper—Feb. 7-20, 2013 “Come to UW-Stout—free laptops and software!” encourage recruiters. One of the biggest forms of propaganda that the University of Wisconsin-Stout Admissions advertises is the “polytechnic” atmosphere and its laptop program. Students are often convinced that the laptops issued to them during orientation are just that—free. These laptops are leased to each student on a two-year contract through the e-Scholar program. Stoutonia newspaper—Oct. 18-31, 2012 The University of Wisconsin-Stout will again host the North Campus trick-or-treat event for children in the community on Tuesday, Oct. 30 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. The event provides a safe environment for children of the neighborhood and their families to experience Halloween traditions, while hosting a food drive to benefit the local food pantry.
